I am glad I missed the game tonight. The Panthers got blown out of their own building by an Ovechkin-less Capitals team 7-3. I have tried to make excuses for keeping some of the current core of the team but games like this show that the Panthers truly need to be shaken up and they need to start over.
The Panthers can be 12th-15th in the East or a bottom 5 team giving the veteran’s minutes to the kids. I would rather have Repik and Matthias and Ellerby play and finish 14th in the East than have to watch Horton/Weiss and McCabe finishing 11th. And I’m a fan of Horton, Weiss and McCabe. But things have to change this summer. This team simply isn’t good enough.
